我们呼吁——奥运期间，全球休战。解决争端，诉诸谈判。
求同存异，摒弃强权。平等协商，共谋发展。
我们反思——战争罪孽，人类祸患。文明毁弃，生态失范。
恐怖暴力，天人共谴。痛定思痛，以史为鉴。
我们主张——以和为贵，道法自然。止戈为武，铸犁镕剑。
包容共济，海纳百川。仁者爱人，以直报怨。
我们祝愿——物阜年丰，河清海晏。合作共羸，睦邻友善。
和谐世界，持久平安。天下大同，永无征战！

The 2008 Peace Declaration of Chinese Veterans
While 2008 Beijing Olympic torch relay is proceeding around the world, we, the veterans of China, are meeting together at the Peace Temple under the Great Wall to demonstrate our wish for peace.
We appeal to the world —To accept a global armistice during 29th Olympic Games, solve disputes through negotiations, seek common ground while reserving differences, stress friendly consultation and discard power politics.
We review history in retrospect —War is human disaster, causing civilization destruction and ecological disorder; violence and terrorism are bound to doom. That is what we have learned from history and our painful experience.
We earnestly advocate —To be consistent with the nature, lay down arms, keep an open mind, love peoples all over the world, eliminate disbeliefs with frankness.
We heartily wish —To build a prosperous and harmonious world, trust each other with grace and benevolence, cooperate for mutual development, maintain and safeguard the world peace.
